Food is an affair of the heart for us here at the Maples Inn bed and breakfast!
Chef Matt brings more than two decades of experience cooking in restaurants, B&Bs, and catering, to his role at the inn. He has a passion for travel, the culinary traditions and ingredients of local and far-flung cultures, and the power of tasty, fresh, and quality food to nourish and delight. He loves what he does and enjoys putting delicious breakfasts and refreshments on the table for our guests.
For early risers, a continental breakfast of gourmet coffees, teas, juices, fruit, and pastries is available beginning at 6:30 am.
From 8:00 to 10:00 am, we serve a full breakfast in our bright dining room or, in warm weather, on the front porch overlooking the garden. You can choose from among a choice of entrees on our menu, with options ranging from sweet to savory.
Breakfast entrees are varied. Examples of what you’ll find on our ever-changing menu include eggs as you like them, Maine blueberry pancakes, quiches, French toast, toasted bagels and smoked salmon, and Eggs Benedict. And don’t forget your sides: local bacon and sausage accompany your meal.
We are committed to supporting Maine’s farmers and growers, and to celebrating the rich and diverse local fare the region offers. We source many of our ingredients from Native Maine Produce and Specialty Foods® and local farmer’s markets.
We are always striving to weave Maine foods – local, organic, and consciously produced whenever possible – into your culinary experience at the inn.
